ETIHAD - ASSESSMENT DAY GUIDE

If you are preparing for a cabin crew assessment day, congratulations! Your big and extremely important day is here!

The interest in this job is enormous and the recruitment process is exhausting. Only perfectly prepared candidates will become future cabin crew.

Take a look at the following steps to clarify the selection process for Etihad Airways.

 

1. Candidates Registration + Reach Test

At registration, you will submit your current CV along with an invitation that you should receive along with an email confirming your invitation to the assessment day.

After the registration, a Reach Test will take place when you have to reach the mark at a height of 212 cm.

 

2. English Test

The test consists of 4 parts:

  • grammar (multiple choice)
  • reading a text, and then filling up blanks
  • reading a text and answering questions related to the text
  • writing a short essay

 

3. One to One Exercise

The recruiter will ask each of the candidates a random question.

Examples:

“Do you like to be young?”

“Is there a holiday destination you would not go back to?”

“Which qualities should a friend have?”

“If you had a sport-related job what would it be?”.

 

4. Company Presentation

There will be a presentation about the company and life in Abu Dhabi. In the meantime, the recruiters will select successful candidates to proceed to the next round.

 

5. Group discussion

You will be divided into groups with 6 – 8 candidates, depending on the total number of candidates. The group may be smaller or larger.

Each group gets a task. The task of the group is to find a solution to the problem and present it to recruiters.

Example: There are only 2 vacant seats on the plane from Abu Dhabi to New York. Passengers who want to get to this flight are 8. The old couple, a woman with a child, a manager of the company, a couple on a honeymoon, etc. Your task is to decide as a group who gets the priority.

You have 20 minutes to complete the task.

Upon completion of this test, further elimination of the candidates will take place.

 

6. Final Interview

Some candidates undergo the final interview on the same day, others will be invited to the next day.

Two interviewers will be in the room, one of them will ask questions, and the other will write notes.

Questions mostly relate to the experiences listed in your CV.

Sample Questions:

Why did you leave your previous job?

Why do you want to change your current job for Etihad?

Do you have experience living or working with people from different cultures?

What do you know about the Middle East?

Give me an example you provided excellent customer service.

Tell me about a time you had to deal with a passenger who was really upset.
