Background
Established in 2003, Etihad Airways is based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and employs approximately 24,000 people from 150 nationalities. As of 2024, Etihad employs around 2,400 pilots and 5,600 cabin crew members.
Contract
Contracts are for three years with a six-month probation period. Contracts are sent via email and must be returned signed to Abu Dhabi.
Salary
- Basic Monthly Salary (Cabin Crew): AED 4,260 (USD 1,160)
- During Probation: AED 2,750 (USD 750)
- Hourly Pay: AED 48 (USD 13)
Paid by ‘block hours’ – measured from the point when the aircraft pushes back from the gate to when it arrives at the gate at its destination.
Layover Allowance
AED 14-18 (USD 4-5) per hour. Example: 24-hour layover in London at AED 16/hour = AED 384 (USD 105).
Monthly Earnings
Average: AED 8,500 – 9,500 (USD 2,300-2,600), varying with flight lengths and layovers.
